From Kitchen Table to Rude Gifts Marketplace

Every great brand starts somewhere unexpected. For Filthymedia, it started with a birthday card that was too rude for the high street — and a realisation that there was a massive gap in the market for people who actually have a sense of humour.

We caught up with the founder to find out what makes Filthymedia tick, why their cards keep selling out, and what's next for the brand.

The Origin Story

"I was trying to find a leaving card for a colleague," they tell us. "Everything was so... beige. Generic messages, clip art flowers, the works. So I made my own. It was absolutely filthy. Everyone in the office loved it."

The best creative ideas come from frustration with what already exists.

Finding Rude Gifts

Filthymedia was one of the first sellers to join the Rude Gifts marketplace. "When I saw what they were building, I just got it immediately. A platform that actually celebrates being offensive? Sign me up."

What Makes Their Cards Different

It's not just about being rude for the sake of it. There's craft in making someone laugh with a greeting card. The typography matters. The timing of the punchline matters. Even the weight of the card stock matters.

  • Every design is hand-lettered or custom illustrated
  • Premium 350gsm card stock with a satisfying feel
  • Blank inside so you can add your own damage
  • Printed in the UK with eco-friendly inks

What's Next?

Filthymedia has big plans for 2026. New product lines, collaborations with other Rude Gifts sellers, and a range of personalised cards that let customers add names and photos. Watch this space.
